From West and Southwest Holland; follow Amsterdam, keep directions Zaanstad at the ring A10. Follow the A7 towards Leeuwarden over the Afsluitdijk.

Take turn Harlingen and follow on the N31. Just after the tankstation turn left at the sign Kimswerd on to the parrallel road. Following the dyk, this road leads you directly into the harbour. At the end keep to your left (the seaside) there you will find the Suydersee in the middle row of ships.

From Middle Holland; follow Lelystad, Emmeloord, Joure and then through Sneek to Harlingen.

From East and Southeast Holland; From Zwolle follow Leeuwarden. then follow Harlingen when arriving at Leeuwarden. Follow the A31 and take exit Harlingen Havens (harbours, number 19). Follow the sign Harlingen Havens over the water, follow the curvy road through the city centre then aside the railway tracks. Take the first crossover to the right, drive by the Aldi Supermarket, turn right and follow the road into the harbour. At the end keep to your left (the seaside) there you will find the Suydersee in the middle row of ships.
